SHORT HISTORY ABOUT THE BREED

The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a dog breed developed in Southern Africa where it was used (among other things) to hunt Lions. This is most likely why this dog is known for its bravery. Its European fore bearers can be traced to the early Pioneers of the Cape Colony of Southern Africa, who cross bread their dogs with the semi domesticated ridge hunting dogs of the Khoikhoi.

THE VILLAGE

Nestled in Centurion on the borders of funky Doringkloof and lazy Lyttleton,  Ridgebacks previously known as Patrick's pub, started its aggressive yet subtle waterhole movement in 2006, where all walks of life could escape the never ending hustle and bustle of Gauteng's stressful lifestyle.

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

Like the dog breed, we at the Ridge always embrace the celebration of being a true part of Africa, striving to offer our guests a taste of true Southern African hospitality. Ridgeback Restaurant also known by many of its locals as "The Dog" invites you to escape the rat race and visit our little village.
